The Shelby County Judicial System chose to upgrade its courtroom technology to a digital solution that provided more reliable and consistent video content presentation, and centralized digital video and audio signal distribution.  The purpose was to better utilize presentation resources, as well as integration with the existing JAVS court video recording systems.

The challenge was to incorporate existing analog technology still being used in the Shelby County courthouse with modern digital technology.  Trinity Video recommended an infrastructure that is entirely digital, yet still accepts legacy analog signals.  The solution included analog (VGA) and digital (HDMI) input ports at the two counsel tables to accept laptops, document cameras, video players, tablets, and other compatible devices.  Also included were four touchscreen monitors with touch annotation functionality for the witness stand, judge’s bench, and two counsel tables. along with a user-friendly wireless touch panel for system operation, a simple control panel for the judge to easily mute, review, print or publish proceedings, a dedicated audio system to playback all presentation content independent of the JAVS audio system, and more.
